Excursion to Lipari and Vulcano: The Aeolian Islands

Lipari port

Between October and April you will start your trip to the Aeolian Islands from Milazzo. The trip takes you along Sicily's North coast.

You will continue your journey on the ferry which takes you to Lipari (duration 1,5 hours). You have the opportunity to visit the interesting museum of Lipari (directly located at the harbour) or to take a stroll through the narrow streets of town, before you take a small ferry to Vulcano.

At Vulcano, you will find the black lava beach and the hot water springs very inviting to go swimming. If you feel adventurous, you can climb the island's crater together with your tour guide. Up on the crater, you have a fantastic view over Lipari, Salina and Vulcano.

On a very clear day, you might even be able to spot Stromoboli - the most famous of all volcanos - and the other Aeolian Islands Panarea, Alicudi and Filicudi. Take a break and have lunch by enjoying a delicious fish meal or pasta in one of the trattorias located at the harbour.

During the summer time you can start your trip to the Aeolian Islands directly at Cefalù's harbor.
