| Watch out though with respect to parking in Cefalů itself:
The traffic wardens are mercyless: You might have to pay up to 32€ if
you park your car in a no-parking zone. Crime The crime rate here is not
larger than compared to other European cities. On the contrary! At Cefalů or in the smallmountainous villages the crime rate is next to nothing. But please be on the alert when you pay a visit to
the bigger towns or you go to see the local market. Pick-pockets might be around here, as well as people who make their living by snatching handbags. Allow us one good piece of advice: Please leave
especially precious or striking pieces of jewellery inside the hotel safe when you have a tour to the capital.
Driving a car in Palermo is a very interesting experience, or better, an adventure.
We recommend to take the train to Sicily's capital. The trains run on a hourly basis and the ride only takes about 60 minutes. It is easy, comfortable and cheap, not even
9 € per person for a return trip. |
